Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Asset, licensing, and warranty management for all server infrastructure
  • Active Directory and VPN user creation and troubleshooting for remote connectivity
  • Maintain real-time performance and uptime alerts / notifications for critical server infrastructure
  • Assist with security compliance for physical and logical components of server infrastructure
  • Plan and implement upgrades for hardware and software infrastructure to maintain warranty / support compliance
  • Provide capacity planning documentation / reports and technical specifications for future expansion of server infrastructure
  • Maintain backup solution and periodically plan and perform test restorations of critical physical and virtual infrastructure
  • Maintain high-level architectural diagrams for critical server infrastructure
  • Plan and test high availability failover and fault tolerance of critical server infrastructure during planned maintenance windows
  • Manage all moves, adds, changes, and deletes for critical server infrastructure component architecture
  • Maintain role-based access and policy management for all server and workstations
  • Create automation where needed, for both server deployment and maintenance, and workstation deployment and maintenance


  • VMWare vCenter and ESXi 5.0 or higher, including resource pools, HA, DRS, Standard and VDS switching
  • Microsoft Server 2008 R2 - Server 2016, including AD, DNS, DHCP, ADBA, SMTP relay, with a detailed understanding of forests and tree domains, GPOs, and access controls
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016 infrastructure
  • EMC Avamar, Acronis, EMC RecoverPoint, or similar VM backup and recovery solutions
  • Detailed networking understanding of VLANs, Virtual Switching, ACLs, Load Balancing, and NAP or similar security controls
  • PCI or ISO compliance and maintenance
  • An understanding of high availability and fault tolerant design of all systems listed above
